Terms of Use
Last updated: September 16, 2026. These terms govern your use of the ZoneLex website.
Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of zonelex.com and any related pages we operate (the “Site”). The Site is operated by Zonelex, Inc., a Delaware corporation with its principal place of business in Washington State, referred to here as “ZoneLex,” “we,” “us,” or “our.”
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
These terms cover this website only. The ZoneLex platform is a separate product, governed by its own agreement, and nothing in these terms grants you any right to use it.
Eligibility
The Site is intended for adults acting in a professional capacity. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use it. The Site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Use of this website
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and view the Site and its content for your own personal or internal business purposes. This license does not include any right to reproduce, republish, redistribute, sell, license, modify, or commercially exploit the Site or its content without our prior written consent. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
When using the Site, you agree not to:
- Use any robot, spider, scraper, crawler, or other automated means to access, index, harvest, or copy the Site, except for search engine crawlers operating in accordance with our robots.txt file;
- Collect or extract content from the Site to develop, train, fine-tune, or evaluate any machine learning model, artificial intelligence system, dataset, or competing product;
- Frame, mirror, or present any part of the Site in a way that obscures its source or implies an affiliation or endorsement that does not exist;
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Site or any related system, or attempt to breach any security or authentication measure;
- Introduce malicious code, or take any action that places an unreasonable load on our infrastructure;
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form, or impersonate any person or entity;
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice on the Site.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Site or any part of it at any time, and we may restrict or terminate access for conduct we believe violates these terms.
Beta program participation
Expressing interest in the ZoneLex beta through this Site does not enroll you in the beta and does not grant you access to the ZoneLex platform. We select beta participants at our discretion and may decline any request.
Access to and use of the ZoneLex platform is governed by a separate written agreement between you or your organization and ZoneLex. That agreement, not these Terms of Use, sets out the terms covering confidentiality, data handling, and permitted use of the product. In the event of a conflict, that agreement controls with respect to the platform.
Please do not send confidential client information, privileged material, or matter files through the forms on this Site.
Intellectual property
The Site and its contents — including text, articles and written guides, photographs, images, graphics, illustrations, data compilations, page layouts, design elements, source code, and the selection and arrangement of all of the foregoing — are owned by Zonelex, Inc. or its licensors and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, trade dress, and other intellectual property laws.
You may view this content and, where a page offers a download or print function, keep a single copy for your own reference. Any other use, including reproduction, redistribution, republication, syndication, or incorporation into another work or product, requires our prior written permission.
“ZoneLex,” the ZoneLex logo, “Know the Land. Know the Law.,” and other ZoneLex names and marks are trademarks or service marks of Zonelex, Inc. and may not be used without our prior written permission. Third-party names and marks appearing on the Site belong to their respective owners, and their appearance does not imply any affiliation or endorsement.
If you believe material on the Site infringes your copyright, contact us using the details below with a description of the work, its location on the Site, and your contact information, and we will investigate.
Information you submit
You agree that information you submit through the Site is accurate and that you have the right to provide it. If you provide information about another person, you confirm you are authorized to do so. How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
Any comment, suggestion, or other feedback you send us about the Site or our business is provided on a non-confidential, non-proprietary basis. You grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use and act on that feedback for any purpose, without compensation or attribution. We do not accept unsolicited business proposals or creative submissions and are not obligated to keep any such submission confidential.
Email and newsletter
If you subscribe to our mailing list, you consent to receive email from us at the address you provide. Every marketing message includes a working unsubscribe link and our postal address, and we honor unsubscribe requests promptly. Unsubscribing from marketing email does not stop us from replying directly to an inquiry you sent us or from sending messages about an existing business relationship.
Third-party links
The Site links to websites and resources we do not control, including our LinkedIn page and sources referenced in our writing. We provide those links for convenience and do not endorse and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. Visiting a third-party site is at your own risk and subject to that site’s own terms.
Disclaimers & no legal advice
ZoneLex is a technology company. We are not a law firm, and we do not provide legal advice or legal services. Nothing on this Site — including articles, blog posts, guides, summaries of statutes, codes, ordinances, or public records, or any other content — is legal advice, and none of it should be relied on as a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney who knows the specifics of your matter and jurisdiction.
Using this Site, contacting us, or applying to the beta program does not create an attorney-client relationship, and no such relationship exists between you and ZoneLex. Land use law is jurisdiction-specific and changes frequently; content on this Site may be incomplete or out of date, and you should verify any information against the current, official source before relying on it.
Statements on this Site about our product, roadmap, or plans reflect our current expectations and are subject to change. They are not commitments, and we undertake no obligation to update them.
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ZONELEX DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ITS CONTENT IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. In those places, these exclusions apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ZONELEX, INC. AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, ADVISORS, AGENTS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SITE, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER THEORY, AND WHETHER OR NOT WE WERE ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100). This limit does not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and does not govern claims arising under a separate signed agreement with us.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Zonelex, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, advisors, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of your use of the Site, your violation of these terms or any applicable law, or your violation of any third-party right. We may assume the exclusive defense of any matter subject to indemnification by you, at your expense, and you agree to cooperate.
Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to the Site, are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules and without regard to the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
You and ZoneLex agree that the exclusive venue for any action arising out of or relating to these terms or the Site is the state or federal courts located in the State of Washington. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts and waive any objection based on inconvenient forum.
Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us first and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. If it is not resolved within 30 days, either party may proceed in the courts identified above. Nothing here prevents either party from bringing an individual claim in small claims court, or from seeking injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property or confidential information. Any claim must be brought within one year after it arises, to the extent permitted by law.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms at any time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page, and the revised terms take effect when posted. If we make a material change, we will provide more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Site after a revision takes effect means you accept it.
General
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and ZoneLex regarding the Site. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. You may not assign these terms without our written consent; we may assign them without restriction, including in connection with a financing, merger, or sale of assets. These terms create no third-party beneficiary rights. We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
